Personal Intro
I’m a Republicrat…a liberal, right-
Both political parties are beholden to their respective special interests, and are focused on only two things: staying in office and gaining control. I’m not saying that every individual in Congress is corrupt. But as a group they’ve lost all common sense and any connection to reality.
A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy..."
Alexander Fraser Tytler, Scottish lawyer and writer, 1770
Our country is in serious trouble. Political decisions made over the last 40 years have set us on a course that can only end in disaster. The question is not "if" but "when"...and "how bad will it be".
Some say that we're in "uncharted waters". That's not true. Dr. Ken McFarland (professor
of History and Economics at the University of Kansas) studied the rise and fall of
22 nations. Though dominant in their era, they collapsed for one or more of these
six reasons:
·They lost their religious convictions and flouted basic morality
·They became obsessed with sex
·They debased their money and let inflation run rampant
·Honest work ceased to be considered a virtue
·Respect for law disintegrated and violence became an accepted method of achieving ones desires
·Citizens were no longer willing to fight to defend their nation and their heritage
It's obvious to most that our new President is dishonest and taking us in the wrong direction. We were already headed for the cliff, and he's pushing hard on the accelerator.
What follows are my proposals for restoring our nation. I wish that swift action could still avert a calamity. But we've gone too far to get away without any pain. Our task now is to minimize it.
